Lessons Learned?

On the eleventh hour, of the eleventh day, of the eleventh month, we commemorate the one hundredth anniversary of the end of the Great War, now known as World War One.

Such was the brutality and ferocity of it, The Great War became known as "The war to end all wars"

One hundred years on, I look around me and ask myself if any lessons were learned and can only answer "No"

Since the Great War I think that almost every political leader in the UK has presided over a war or conflict.

On this centenary commemoration, let's change tradition. Instead of the dignitries and politicians laying their wreaths first and the veterans of war last, let's reverse it.

Let's remember, acknowledge and appreciate the sacrifice of the REAL heroes, not those who sent them.
